Recently, a good friend died from a reoccurance of cancer. I was emailed this site, which offers a free profile, and then personal messages from friends for the cherished one's viewing, and for that person's family.

I think it is a good idea, especially with the technology. People forget...details, intensity of moments, the vast spreading of caring for each other. Last year, I had a couple of lunches with the now-adult son of a friend and man I worked with who had died twelve years ago...he wanted to know about his dad, the anecdotal stuff, the experiences I'd had with him...to build an adult's view of his parent, who had died when he was young.

The Caring Bridge would have addressed that vacuum. Folks can email stories and feelings to the site. Printing out the messages might be part of the legacy that those who have died could leave for their families.

No cost, as far as I can tell, and I have no connection with it.

Just thought I'd spread the word.

This is a wonderful site. I keep track of one of my friend's\former coworker's husband as he deals with his leukemia.

Yes .. that's a wonderful site. Thank you to let us know about that site Kis.

Thank you, Kis. I'm going to pass this along to some folks. Very much appreciated, indeed.

when my sister was at cleveland clinic for her heart transplant she posted there to let everyone know how she was doing. she had her transplant and a few days later died from a blood clot. i just checked and her posts are still there. its a good site that lets everyone know whats going on without having to call.

Just a note on the Caring Bridge, we have a friend whose 16 year old daughter was in a car accident and has been in and out of a coma for years now. But my point is, once you make your own website within theirs, it is VERY hard to search for information on that person unless you have a Link. Please post a link to your site if you use them, otherwise, folks who care may never find you or the person you are keeping information posted for. I have had to send the link to our friends daughter's site to many others who searched and could not find her. Just a tip, we all care and want to be able to find info on our friends. But LINKS will shorten the process.
