Well, A very nice young lady made a trade with me. I will now be receiving The Chiruwa Ang Khola. I feel very lucky!! Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences with the blade? What kind of steel are they made of?

You are lucky.

If it's from Himalayan Imports, the blade is 5160 high carbon steel, differentially hardened along the edge at the belly of the blade. If you can post some pictures here when you get the knife, forumites can tell you more. Be sure to include closeups of both sides of the blade near the handle, since that might have identifying marks engraved. Also let us know the overall length (and weight if you have a postal scale).

For general information, do a web search on "chiruwa ang khola". I just tried that in Google and got 1,400 hits. The only limit on information will be how much time you have to read it. This model is also commonly known as the CAK, but if you do a web search on "cak" you'll get 42 million hits, most of which have nothing to do with the chiruwa ang khola.

Need some closeups of the other side, that is the side with the makers mark. Beautiful knife, love it already.

Might be able to describe the mark too. I'm feeling like it's rajkumar, a double mountain looking mark. There should be a prize here just for entertainment.
 
This is terrible but I zoomed in on the markings on my computer and took a pic of the screen on my phone. Hard to see but here they are:

From the picture it seems like very high quality work. Could be Rajkumar, but I'd put my money on Bhakta because of the deep, clearly delimited fullers.
 
Very nice young lady i must say! The CAK is a heavy duty chopper in fact this one is even warranted as a prybar. Pretty much indestructible but personally i wouldnt try to destruct it because they are so beautifully crafted. Dont know what you traded but id bet you got the good end of the stick! Very cool blade! Enjoy!

I think you may be correct Bawanna-The flow of the spine says Rajkumar ^^ !
 
Alright, I received the CAK today. Absolutely beautiful, this is what I call a blade. Here are the markings you all are asking for. Hopefully you can solve the maker mystery for me:

So, can you tell me about the history or any info from the markings?

Also, how do you all recommend a person sharpens this blade??
