NICE!

I've been curious about those chitlangi bowies.

How well do they perform? What's the balance and weight like?

I really haven't had the chance to mess with them yet. Balance on the big sucker is 2 1/2" in front of the guard. Mostly due to the huge pommel. It really was made for someone like Andre the Giant.

The regular one balances under an inch in front of the guard. It feels perfect in the hand. Gripping the forward part of the handle it feels weightless. You can get more leverage if you shift your hand towards the pommel. It's pretty much a regular khuk handle with the brass part being an extension.

Santosh made the small one. I guess he is new. The fullers are very well done and the fit and finish is top notch. Very impressive work.

I never liked the looks of the AK bowie because of the huge belly and funny pommel, but these are just gorgeous.

The AK bowie may not win any beauty contests but it's a great knife. I used mine last weekend to split up an old pole for firewood. My buddy would try to split it with his axe but it would get wedged quickly. I'd slide in the AK push the blade deeper and twist it to break pieces off.
