Received my Chive today and having handled it all day long, I can't find anything to complain about. I'm a little surprised at this because my philosophy has long been that it's just as easy (for me) to carry a big blade (think BM 710) as a small blade. The 710 has been my daily carry for about a year now, so it was with a bit of skepticism that I ordered the Chive.
I got the black boron coated model. Let me just say that the fit and finish are perfect and it arrived with a nice, even grind on the blade and is shaving sharp. This is exactly what I hoped for: a sub 2" scalpel with a lot of gee whiz effect! Everyone I showed it to today (and that was a lot of folks) said the same thing upon seeing it open, "Dang, that's COOL!"
EDIT: The blade locks up very nicely. It's appears to me to be a framlock as opposed to a linerlock - very substantial.
I'll continue to carry the 710 for hard use needs, but the Chive will also ride in the pocket (I found the clip superfulous) for more mundane tasks. I really like this little knife!
