Did CRK just do the inlays?Yes, one of ten one-offs lotto'd at Blade
Deeeeets
Just because you put together two things doesn't make it better. *cough* I rather have a nice Shiro 111 AND a nice CRK than this thing personally. It's like slapping ice cream on a steak. It might work for some, not me though.(Especially not at the price that is probably over 2 grand)
To each their own for sure. It took some growing on me, I didnt initially love it out of the box. Im not really big on colorful knives. After handling/going over it in detail, I dont think I could ever bring myself to sell it.
It's the nicest knife I've ever handled. Subjective but I've handled a lot.
An M390 Shiro 95 with the CRK Big Dipper Night Sky or Morning Sun UG artwork would be my ultimate grail knife, but the cost puts it way above the top end of my range. Oh, well...
You need to enjoy it, that's all that matters. The colors work well and I am sure it's a great knife in terms of fit&finish as well as action and function. I actually considered the peasant version with just the blue alutex (I think that's what it is called) because I really like that blue.![]()
Isn’t it functionally just a Shiro with decorative scales?
Smacks a bit of taking a Lamborghini, having it painted in the same place that paints Camaros, and calling it a “collaboration”.
This is not what I would have envisioned if you said there was going to be a Chris Reeve x Shirogorov collaboration. I would have thought it’d be, like, a zaan flipper with ceramic MRBS or something.
I’m sure it’s a great knife, and I’m not trying to put it down - it just strikes me as an odd item.
Maybe I'm just getting old and crotchety but it looks to me like a Russo-American copy of a Chinese flipper dipper special.
