Merry Christmas to all my forum friends. This is the last show of 2022.
I want to thank all of you for your continuing support of the show as I finish out my 2nd year as the host.

This year was the 50th Anniversary of the Buck 112 Ranger so Ranger pics from me.
Busy with family stuff as I'm sure you all are so repeats. I did have good intentions for new images, perhaps tomorrow.
You can follow with that, show us what Santa Buck brought you, or even a picture of your Christmas tree.
Just remember, ALL Buck knives qualify for the Picture show, not just the opening format.

Here is the story on the origin of the 112 and its connection to the USS Ranger as told by Chuck Buck in a 2011 interview.

Buck: In the late ’60s, the aircraft carrier Ranger was in port in San Diego when a couple of sailors got into a fight and they both had 110s.
So the captain said, “No more 4-inch blades.” That’s when we developed a 3-inch version of the 110, and of course we named it the Ranger.

A 112 Ranger with Shedua (Segua) handles, a wood from the West cost of Africa. This would be a Category 2, Variation 2 knife.
It is the first wood handled Ranger, the first 3 variations were Micarta. I guestimate it is c.1973.

The first Buck I remember seeing is my Grandfather's 3 dot FG 112. He wore it daily. As a kid I would pester him about it. I remember him telling me about Buck Knives and how they were tough enough to cut a bolt in half. I was dumbfounded by that idea. Obviously, he did not put his Buck to the test. He taught me to take care of the things that take care of you.

I don’t own a single 112. Honestly don’t know why. I’ve only seen one on person once and that’s when I was sharpening one for an older gentleman in the church. Anyhow I’ll just post this one instead.DEE2C327-A793-44BD-AAA1-020162601360.jpeg
