yesterday we all went to get our christmas tree. My wife and I have been doing this since we were married (25yrs), and this year was no different, except all the kids could not be there this time.Starting with a hike we were out in -15 or so weather for the day ( it's dark at 4pm so the day is a short one). Between all of us there were 3 folders ( my vaquaro grande, and a emerson cqc 7b for my one lad, a gerber bolt action for my wife)in fixed blades a Bill Seigle was carried by my other son. We also had a small axe and bow saw. I never fet under served by my folder, and cut wiener roasting sticks, made some fuzz stick to get the fire going A modern folder is great imho, when used as a knife. ( the vaquaro maybe not the best:) but hey whatever floats your boat as long as you have a knife ! The lake was froze over though we didn't go all the way out on it.After a fire with wieners, hot chocolate and chicken soup, we finally found our tree. Way up here the tress don't grow too big and we are limited to pretty well only black spruce, but it's the tradition that counts.
Happy holiday's

Thanks for sharing, Ken.

Where abouts in Canada are you? North, obviously, if you only have Black Spruce.

And you're right, it's the tradition that counts.

Nice place, Ken. Been through there a few times.

Have a buddy that used to have a bear hunting camp (archery only) in Caramat (the town with one stop sign :D )

I'm glad I talked my dad out of a menards tree, it's much funner when you go out in the snow and pick your own.

Very cool and cold pics it looks like lol. -15 BURR lol.
That looks like a awesome place to get out at and have a fire and do some cooking.
