So, I had a long weekend about 4 hours away from my house...had a little too much to drink the night before and was dreading the drive home with 2 wound up kids and bride....When I got home, first thing I did was check the mailbox and what did I see?

Out of the blue the Sheath Fairy visited me...

My favorite kind of Taco...Kydex..

Dude, this Thrillbilly guy says that this was one of his first attempts...I couldn't tell at all...the thing fits my bk16 like a stiff little glove...perfect retention, no wobbling or rattling..

It was sitting on my desk today, and I was bored at work, so I took out some random junk that was in my EDC bag aka: man-purse and did a little modifying...

I added some paracord to make it a vertical mount....a little ranger band to hold a mini altoids can to it...nothing major, but I love the way it sits on my belt now...

Thanks again man...it was totally unexpected...When you go Orange, I want to be your first customer...My machax needs a little Ogrelove...

I thank you and so does my BK16

that kydex looks like a nice fit. nice job Thrillbilly. i like the simple but useful mods

wait a minute..is that the FFG in there? So it does fit the FFg too?

Glad u like it, still not happy about the hole spacing and placement LOL I have discovered putting masking tape over sheath and marking the hole layout allows for adjusting it til I like it..THEn drilling!

Actually fits it a tad better than the saber for some reason......I Likes...

One problem I always have with kydex is that it keeps scrating the damn blade and that the kydex dust is a bitch to remove...need a compressed air gun or something. Nice loot man.

this was dust free....like I said the F&F were grand...

I have found flushing the crap out of it with a kitchen tap or garden hose works well LOL

it is amazing how much dust and shavings are in em after sanding/fitting

as for scratches/marks on the blade, like most custom makers or companies say in the fine print, Kydex may mar the blade. Its for User knives not safe queens for sure.

Normally I am all about black sheaths and knives but I must say that green looks very nice with tan handles!

What is it you keep in your mini altoids can? Fire starting material?

That one has some straws with vasoline soaked cotton stuffed in them and a mini bic lighter...and there was a random pill in there too...lol. Im not to sure what that was.

I need to find some Altoid Smalls. I havent ever seen any..except on y'alls pics. Looks handier then the fullsize altoids.

Probably viagra....maybe thats why the sheath fit better...from all the extra swelling.

I got some at Big Lots, you could probably find them at a gas station as well, they would be over with the candy in an isle, not at the counter, mostly because people buy the large ones if they buy them at all anymore.

Bic lighter you say? Is a shame Brunton doesn't make a small enough storm proof lighter to fit in there! I love my Brunton Helios! Also have you ever carried char paper? I saw a video a while back about making char paper inside a Altoids can!

Charr cloth is better than paper I would think, doesn't burn as fast, but it's the same process either way, put some cloth/paper in the tin, close it, make sure there's no way for air to get in there, then put it close enough to the coals/embers to burn, but don't put it to close if it's a hot enough fire to melt.... when it's done (when you think it is, you can probably leave it there till your fire dies) you'll be left with very delicate little black blotches that won't light on fire, but will still burn and carry the heat from itself to your tinder.

Try the big river store. I order them by the case load.

aholee crap! U must have the freshest breath in the Northern Hemisphere! LOL!

I woulda never thought about ordering them online..Im still not totally used to the Electronic Age I guess
