About two years ago I was contacted by Mikhail Kalashnikov about making a folding knife to commemorate the AK-47 Assault Rifle which he had developed. We were supposed to go to Russia to meet with him and his family and Im sure, to drink a good lot of Vodka.
However, it was at that time that the U.S. began its large scale operations in Afghanistan and we were tasked with a higher calling. Anyway, they could not wait and must have contacted Boker about the project.
I had already designed the knife and built the prototypes. I designed the knife strictly for military use and built to stand the rigors of hard everyday use in the field. I had always wanted to have a knife in our line that was a pure military folder and this knife fit the bill. Hell, it was a great knife, a great design and Ive decided to release it anyway. I was originally going to call it the EK-47 but thought that wouldnt have been too cool. So for now Im calling it the Comrade M.F. substitute whatever words you want for the M.F.
This is a tough, simple, go ahead design, (just like the assault rifle) and it feels great in the hand. Personally I think my design is better than Bokers. But then, I think all my designs are better than Bokers.
This knife is a pure-bred military folding knife-nothing more-nothing less. We are going forward with production of the knife and Im even making a custom version which will now be the CQC-12.
The more I handled this knife the more I liked it. This is an excellent design that I am sure will meet and serve the needs of anyone who carries it into harms way.
I hope to have some custom and production prototypes at the New York Show.
