The Condor "Classic" Product Line

What's the word on the current batch of Condor blades? The wife stole my trusty Ka-Bar for her own pack and overruled a new Buck Special as being too similar for the cost. So f*ck it, I'm gonna go big or go home and that Hudson Bay knife caught my discerning eye. Is there anything unique about their "Classic" line or is it just the style? What's with the hammered-out blades? I read that they may or may not do that anymore - it looks like a potential rust trap, frankly, but I read too many good things about this company to let that stop me...

Has anyone bought any of their "Classic" knives recently? All the Condor reviews I seem to dig-up are from 2008 or earlier and I like to keep-up with the latest offers, what with everyone selling-out to overseas interests (Yea, I know they're from Brazil, but they ain't Chinese), these days. Still a worthwhile investment (meaning that, if I get started with a new brand, I'll probably collect more, too)???

The Hudson Bay is like a cross between a butcher knife and a cleaver. It is a big chunk of knife.

hmm, yea I gathered that much. thanks. I guess that I meant quality, etc. Also, what, specifically, is going-on with the blade "finish" I guess...
it looks like someone took a chipping hammer to it while still hot, or something - strange (or should I say, "rustic" ?)

Hey, double post, UpNorth! Can you clean that up for the front page here?
Pics take a long time to load for some folks, so that's a little inconvenient!
