I've handled a few cord wraped blades and love the feel but I cant seem to find any that are me. Any of you guys think you could recomend some that are well made. I really have no specific style or make in mind, just looking for a good quality blade.

However, dont recomend the Corkum first strike. It may be pretty but from what I hear its as sharp as a butter knife.

well i guess cord wrap is sort of a trademark of strider knives. really good knives. striderknives.com.

Just qurious -- could there be any problems (I'm mostly worried abot rust on tang) with cord-wrapped handle if you wet it? Do I need to unwrap-dry-wrap back it?
Thanks beforehand!

i wouldnt wet my cord before wrapping, that dont sound like a good idea to me.

also that isnt the way strider does there knives.

i wrapped a greco recon like a strider w/green paracord, and darned if it doesnt LOOK like a strider, and being a greco, its a pretty heavy duty knife anyway.

dont know were it shows ya how to wrap like a strider, maybe the strider websight?? but i think that looks better myself.

I don't think he's asking about wetting the cord before wrapping, but rather having a wrapped handle knife get wet, as the cord then, if not sealed, tends to trap the moisture and hold it close to the blade.

Yes, that could be a problem if you have untreated steel under the wrap. Can either unwrap it, or could try hair dryer, dunno. SOme of customs at least that are wrapped have some type of coating on the blade. I know the one I made for msyelf does. Just used black header paint. But that's an ugly little knife anyways. :)
