I had a quiet Saturday afternoon for the first time in a while so I set about cleaning up the shop and using up some scraps of G-10 and the like.

So I came up with the CQKey-7 :D:thumbup:

I used the pivot and spacer screws from one of those crappy box cutter knives that fell to pieces a long time ago. There is a hardened SS stop in there to halt the keys
in the open position but the rest of it works on friction. The wave is also functional but of course obsolete being that it's on my keys and not cliped to my pocket.

It actually works pretty well but we will see how it holds up over time. I'll probably re-coat the keys and get a better pivot for it when I next order up some bits and pieces. I may even do an HD version with the Ti scraps I have kicking about.

Here it is next to a mini-7 for comparison.

How does it wave?

Great job!

I just filed the wave on so it looked more like the original CQC-7. It was never supposed to be functional but it just happens to work.
The wave is designed to do one thing at the end of the day so it should't be too much of a surprise. :p

Nice execution, made me remember the OTF key I did a few years back. Used one of those UTX-70 clones that were running around at the time.

Thanks for the kind words guys. :)

I think making silly wee things like this is way better than just throwing
scraps out, and having too much time on my hand helps too. :p

That OTF key is sweet by the way, great job.:thumbup:
