Gents and ladies I think I found my knife at last. I've been wanting a ladder Damascus blade in a Sebbie for a long time, but I've had a hard time finding one that clicked with me. I think I finally found it. I've owned 13 different CRK's now and I think I can safely say I've tried about all variations of the Sebenza. I'm not saying I've tried every one, but I've tried large and small, insingo and clip, inlay and plain, regular and 21.

I was browsing a dealers website and suddenly saw one that I've always passed over. I got to looking and thinking of how elegantly simple it was and decided I had to have one.

It arrived today and it gave me a thrill that I've never felt when unboxing a Sebbie. It's a large plain 21 with a ladder pattern blade! I know your probably thinking, "So? What's all the hype about?" Well I love simple elegance and a plain Sebenza is the epitome of my idea of a knife. If you add a Damascus blade how much better does it get?

Ok I'm done rambling. I'd like to hear your stories of your perfect example of a CRK.

Im not usually a fan of Damascus blades on Sebenza's, but with the plain scales it just seems to work. Really nice knife, congrats!

Beautiful knife!! My dream knife is the same thing but with the CF front scale.

Same here. This just seems to pop out. It lets the Damascus speak for itself without mammoth or wood getting in the way. No offense to inlays, I personally don't care for them other than micarta on a user.

I have inlay sebenzas, but for me its always been a plain jane and or CGG/UG that really gets me going.

Inlays have been the way for me and I've always passed over the plain Janes until I bought a large 21 (from the Exchange) on a whim. It's been my EDC ever since....

Really love that knife. It's like it's wearing a trench coat with lingerie underneath.

To me it is "the one" I've got; the small PJ 21. The king of EDC's. I really had a hard time spending the money, but after 5 years of drooling and stargazing, I finally broke down and it was really all I hoped for. Perfect in size and every other way. So easy and nice to take down and put together again. For a short period I wondered if I should have got the insingo or had micarta on it but I came to the conclusion that the original was the way to go and the doubts have left me completely. But damascus would have been nice I guess.

That said I still admire the beautiful inlayds, CGG's and damascus CRK's on here..

I agree for a few reasons (the main one being the lighter colored scales that are typical on inlays). That is why I got a DT with micarta. The best of all worlds, DT, dark scales, micarta, and a user;)

Thanks for the comments guys! I've got it in it's leather pouch riding in my back pocket today, and I pull it out once in a while to just admire it. My intent is to make it a user but I'm kinda breaking it in easy. Once it has a few wear marks and a snail trail or two I'll work it in my edc rotation with my regulars and my small micarta insingo. This damascus takes an insanely keen edge! I stropped it just a few passes last night and it makes hair pop!

I can see what you mean. I may have to try a micarta inlay with ladder sometime.

Nice! The plain handle does compliment the Damascus blade.. And the pattern on this ladder is pretty nice...

Thanks guys. It's amazing to me how Chris doesn't have to come out with a new model every few months to keep business going. Simple reliable designs sell themselves without advertising and lots of bling.

Great find, that one is wonderful! I think that is my favorite as well, plain Jane and Damascus. I've been looking everywhere for one and Nada.

I agree, the plain jane 21 is my favorite configuration. I've had a lot of others but the plain ones with no embellishments are the core of the sebenza in my opinion and if I could only have one it would be the small plain 21, which is exactly all I have lol. I really wanted a Damascus but ended up with a no idaho made s30v small. I love its simplicity, excellent design no frills type of build. S30v is surprisingly nice after using only s35vn.
