Pictures of these knives were posted here a few months ago by a fellow member and Texan. After some back and forth, we made a deal with them ending up with me here in big D. They were clearly carried and used, but clean enough that I thought the shop would be able to breathe some new life in to them with much difficulty or any significant changes. The large original Sebenza had the former owner's initials engraved as you can see here:

Angela in the CRK shop said to send them in and the would see what could be done to remove or hide the lettering, as well as bring them both back to a fresh state. Well, the knives came home yesterday and while I should be used to this by now - I'm blown away by the service and skill of Lisa and the others in the CRK shop. She added the complementary circular designs you can see below to mask and remove the lettering on the large Original. She was also able "magically" match the blend of anodized colors from the former decorations so that there is a gradual shift in colors from one set of circles to the next. Beautiful work and a nice blending of Chris' old work with Lisa's newer talent. The small P was also refreshed and looks brand new. Wow. I promise to take some pictures in better light when the clouds break eventually.

FANTASTIC! Really nice to see how accommodating they were with the project!

That's super creative how they hid the initials. Even cooler is how they balanced it with the smaller ones toward the front.

Kinda like hiding a tattoo, eh?

I mentioned doing this to someone I work with earlier this week to hide some initials or letters on his Sebenza from a previous owner.

Actually, Lisa didn't so much cover up the initials as she did completely remove them and then find a creative way to decorate the "scars". It cost me $75, but I think it was well worth it.

$75? Wow, yeah definately worth it! Good to know that this can be done.

Yes..I realize that the initials went away with the modification. The comment was more of a comparison than anything else. The lucky thing for you is that it was a CGG before and still is...If anything, this modification added value when the initials were removed.
The coworker I was talking about would probably lose value doing this mod as it's a highly sought after folder...Well..except the initials.

Either way,..Lisa did a great job as always! Love the new look :)
