I like it a lot but how do we carry it?

Apparently in the bed of your truck, doesn't that thing come in around 9lbs?

Alan,

I can't tell.
If i'm going to get this it has to be handy around the camp area.

This tool is 5.5lbs.

I just can't see it being very good at alot of stuff it's "supposed" to do. To use it as a chopper, your handle (crow bar) is going to be heavier than your chopping end. To use it as a crow bar, you have that block area coming out right where the bar's rolling edge should be. And I don't see it working at all for a saw, too heavy and not enough saw teeth on it for the size/weight ratio. On the plus side it looks cool and the cord wrap looks good.

Alan,

I see it as a vast improvement from the already versatile Chinese Military model.
The middle portion, if the bolt is indeed adjustable/removable, you could use the pry bar separately.

SAK might just be the only tool now that has been recognized to do so. But then again many will disagree.

Might be great if the pry bar was titanium, at least I could carry it.

Interesting. I see many breaching tools are made outta titanium 6Al - 4V. Does it take up the abuse as say what a pry/crow bar would?

Back to your question that if it's made of Ti the price-tag would have set you back. High grade Aluminum as a handle?

Please pick a forum and post in it, don't post all over the site. Three threads merged into one.

Even if the shovel end came off you've still got that square block on the back of the where the crowbar should roll. This will make it significantly harder to use to pry from that end as your leverage is thrown way out and it's not gradual anymore.

Looks like the epitome of multi tasking. Some would find it to their liking, but not my thing.

Ah you got a point. Can we bend it and not causing any stress on the welt point around the hammerhead? Can we sharpen the tip of prybar so it's accessible?
If we move the hammerhead lower wouldn't that be better?

Personally I'd rather carry a hatchet, a folding saw and a small camp shovel. I have no need for a crowbar in the bush.

Regards

Robin

It looks like the shovel head screws off....which might help when trying to use the pry bar.

If you need to carry a heavy pry bar i guess this might be ok, but even then I'm not sure it would offer any advantage over carrying a seperate pry bar and folding shovel.
