This is my latest design, I've labeled it THE CRUX. Wasn't sure how it would turn out at first, but now that it's done I like it and will add it to my regular offerings.
Specs:
8 3/4" OAL
4 1/2" modified/semi Tanto blade in S30V
hollow gound with false edge
thumb serrations on spine
black G10 scales
SS pins & thong tube
multi position Kydex carry

Kicking around the idea of making it in full size, any thoughts?

As always, critical feedback appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

I think I would have preferred this knife if it had ended up as a mild recurve rather than a semi tanto, but that's just my opinion. This knife does look good and it also looks very well made.

Recurves and spear points work well with this little knife on paper. I did the semi tanto first because it was kinda different.

Thanks for the feedback,
Lee

Critical feedback? I can't really think of any. It's a good looking package overall and I really dig the blade.

EDIT: And I like the idea of a full size version.

I'm with Keith on this one. I would prefer a mild recurve, or no recurve at all. This one works as is though; I am just stating my preferences. A spearpoint would be perfect for me.

I like it.
Two objections:
1. which is personal preference, is that the thumbridges are too small and narrow, This can be a real pain to clean.
2. I really don't like knives that force your index finger to grab the blade. It's useful for fine work, but I like to have the option of being able to choke down as necessary, because I think it's much safer, especially during hard (not abusive) use.

WALKING MAN: This little knife was made to be a belt utility. I Plan on a full size version when time allows. The pics just doesn't do it justice, it really is pretty sweet. It is my personal favorite to date. Ask my wife, I don't usually like ANYTHING I make/design, but this one I am quite satisfied with so far. I have drawings of it in recurve and spear point that I plan on making. I'll post them as soon as they are done. Anyway, I really appreciate the unbridled constructive criticism, that is the main reason I post my work here. Doesn't matter what I like if the buying public thinks its crap. Off my soap box for now. I really would like to extend a big THANKS to all who have critiqued this knife so far. Hopefully I'll learn and grow from the opinions shared here.

Thanks to you all,
Lee

Another good choice would be for you to scale it down, make it pointier and make a neck knife out of the design. Thinner, narrower and pointier. Just enough handle to get 4 fingers on.

I actually really like this knife (although I'm not a huge Tanto fan).

What are the dimensions you intend for the full sized version Lee(i.e., OAL, blade thickness post surface grinding, blade length, etc)?

Pete,

Full size meaning at least 12" OAL, with double gaurd, checkered pommel, full size handle with functional finger choil. Ya know, the works. It'll also be 7/32" or 1/4" stock.

Thanks for looking,
Lee
