Good and bad things happen constantly. You can group them into twos, threes, or however you want.

I was thinking 80 must be the magic number..........although I don't believe in magic......there must be a logical simple explanation for these terrible losses.

I will still watch Barney, although it will not be the same knowing he is gone.

I watch a Christmas story every Christmas, Darren McGavin will be thought of often I'm sure, especially when I see his blackened face from the basement stove soot, and the hubcap flying through the air........... :D

And Dennis Weaver will be remembered as having a bum leg on gunsmoke, and often I will remember his galloping horse through the downtown streets and through parks on McCloud............man this all hurts, I am getting soft in my older age it seems..........:(

Robbie Roberson. ;)

Dennis Weaver:
Gunsmoke, Gentle Ben, and McCloud television shows.
Stephen Spielberg's first film, Duel.

I know about Don Knotts, but I have no clue who the other two are.

Darren McGavin is best known for a short lived but CULT CLASSIC sci-fi/horror series called Kolchak:The Night Stalker, which was recently redone by ABC starring Stewart Townsend, it sucked. He also was priceless as the grumpy father in the classic film A Christmas Story.

Bob W. covered Dennis Weaver pretty well, I just recently enjoyed him in the boxed set of season one of Lonesome Dove:The Series, where he had a recurring role as William F. Cody.

All 3 are true entertainment legends!

Darrin McGavin was also Mike Hammer I believe.

He played Mike Hammer in the movies. Stacy Keach played him on TV. McGavin has over 200 credits listed on imdb.com including credits as director and producer. It seems that he never lacked for work.
