My hips are hurting me from 4 hours of walking around, but we had some fun. The gun show was huge with like 1000 tables. Something odd, though. It seems like more and more dealers are hiring hot chicks to work at their tables.
I cant imagine why.
It was Mpisi, Samurai Dave and me.
I got to hold a 470 nitro express double rifle, and oh man was it ever cool.
Dave had un with the AR tables, I think he is building a superweapon.
Im not sure what Scott was interested in, but the blondes were top shelf.
Lots of fun, glad to meet the Cantinistas.

Yep, had alot of fun and glad to meet both you guys, and the gentlemen at lunch too. I usually roar around there, but taking a relaxed tour opened my eyes to some new stuff. Sorry I had to break off early, I've been carefully directing my boss's shooting towards competition and more modern arms, so I needed to strike while the iron was hot.

I'll post a note when I next go shooting and maybe we can get together then too. I shoot at TDSA in Ferris, about 30 minutes south of downtown Dallas. It's a bit of a trek but a wide open range to do as you like as long as it's not stupid :D

I went home after the show, had a snack, and fell asleep. Then I went out to dinner with my fiance' got into the hot tub over at her place and took another nap. Now I am falling asleep behind my computer while researching ballistics tables of the .470 Nitro Express and the history of the AR180 and if it had any design influence on the current Korean and Japanese military issue rifles.

.470 Nitro Express, according to my Barnes Reloading Manuel sitting next to me throws a 500 grain .475 diameter projectile at 2150fps.

Danny really really wanted a .475 projectile to carry around in his pocket, to remind him of his goal in life, and help him dream of a vacation in Africa.

I don't want to advertise, but after napping on it I have decided that a lead weight in your pocket would make a mess, so you need to go with a solid copper or FMJ.

I'm thinking a Barnes solid would be best as a pocket trinket.

However, you have deer in Texas and we know that they are meaner and need far more expansion than paper punching solids. ;) So you might want to load up their .475 hollow point TSX.

Speer, Swift, and A-Square, all make projectiles in .474-.475.

And now for some reason my .223 build feels like I am peeing on a forest fire.

I need a bigger hose.:o

God that half Polish, Half-Hindu girl was screaming hot.
Who would have ever guessed?

anyway, the guy said that there was a group of guys who practice hunting with their double rifles shooting wild hog and deer, etc.. I am dying to join that group.

Danny, wasn't that .470 double a great piece of ordnance?!? Long ago, decades back now I guess, I was allowed to carefully hold a big double rifle at a gun show in Orlando. I don't even remember the caliber, just that it weighed 16 lbs. and cost $16,000. I was impressed!!!

One hall at the local fairgrounds. Less than 100 vendors. Most are selling anything but firearms. Lots of books, coins, and assorted militaria. A few ammo vendors but are all small, local and have high prices. The last few times I've gone there I couldn't figure out why I even went in the first place.
No hot babes at the tables either. Just fat, old guys that want to jaw at you and smell like stale cigarettes.
I hate california!

Oh dude, the Dallas show had at least a thousand Ar-15's in various configurations and even barrels and parts for the guys hwo like to build their own.
I found a neat AR180B I might get if I get this new job.
(I like the AR180, but I really dont liek the AR15s. I trained with them and qualified with one by Army standards, but The AR180B is just a better choice I think for close range stuff)
They even had these models signing autographs, the ones who make bikini SMG videos.

Some of you Tejas boys need to pool together and come up to Tulsa for the Humongous Wanenmacher Gun & Knife show in April or October. It's advertised as the world's largest and I'm sure it is with it being in an 11 Acre building!

Excerpt:
"Something to think about: If all our tables (2800 8ft. and 1200 6ft.) were placed end to end they would stretch 5.6 miles!
If you spend the whole 18 hours we are open to the public and divide that by 4,000 tables, You will have 16.2 seconds to look at each table."

BTW, we got to restore a nice George Gibbs double rifle in 450/400. A couple of the guys got to touch off a round, but I wasn't one of them. It was a beauty when we were done!
