Queen's new Dan Burke Rancher is one beautiful handful of knife. I just received mine, and I am overwhelmed. With fit and finish worthy of a custom and with a half-stop, the Rancher is 4-1/8 inches closed and has oh-so-smooth sambar stag scales and a 3-inch blade of BG-42 (which is a nice fat eighth of an inch at its thickest). The Rancher weighs in at 4-1/4 ounces, feels so comfortable in my big mitt, and snaps open and closed with great authority.

Thanks for telling me. I'm trying to hold off on spending the money! :D

Seriously, it does look like design and materials are way above average, and it would make a good user, too.

Thank you for the heads up on these!

"User" is the first word that came to my mind when I unboxed and unwrapped this superb knife. I wouldn't doubt that Mr. Burke designed it to handle the toughest of everyday ranch chores. The strength this knife exudes in size, in snap the likes I've never experienced before, and in handle material and design is of the highest order.

I have a couple of previous Queen Dan Burke collaborations.
They are really great knives, and can take very hard use.
I look forward to getting one of these.

Yes! I like this one. Thanks Johnny11758 and thanks for the link Esav. The bad news is that my cheap diet of beans and tortillas will be extended for another couple of weeks. The good news is that my new knife will come in handy opening the tortilla packages.

Whoa… That is a gorgeous knife! I like the shape of both the handle and the blade; it’s a very elegant, harmonious design.

Any chance that you might be able to show us a picture of this beauty in your hand? It sounds and looks like a fantastic knife - I just want to get an idea if it would be too much for everyday carry in a pair of slacks.

Thanks in advance!

Where can I get this one? It seems that this model was not available in stock either in knifecenter or knifeoutlet.

In general, a good source for traditional folders is Bill Horn at
Cumberland knife Works.

I recently got mine from KC, but I sent it back since it had a defect. QC at Queen seems pretty poor. Oh well, felt like a nice solid knife. Good luck.
