for a long time i want to get KDSH, but i understand it's chopping ability is not much better than my NMFSH,
so what is it good for (aside of having fun)?

Cuts cars apart.

Literally just finished using my KD's amazing breaching ability as a slim jim/prybar to "break into" my garage. It's an old metal door from the 60's and I've been having issues with the latching mechanism not releasing. I mistakenly removed what I thought was a lever that bypassed the T-handle without allowing the spring loaded clips to latch on the bottom of the door but in actuality rendered the door release inoperable.

Never fear, simply removing the paracord wrap on my KD and 10 minutes of prying with the handle got me back in to my garage! It has tons of flex in it and goes right back to true. What a tool! (Me AND the KDSH)!! :D

While the KDSH may not necessarily chop any better than a NMFSH (I have both), it was designed for it and (IMO) is less fatiguing for long cutting sessions.

Don't discount that spike on the Devil either. That's my favorite feature on there! It bites FAR deeper than either edge, and once it has sunk in, you can torque the handle sideways and usually split something that way. It's the easiest way I've found for splitting firewood quarters.

Awesome advice! Sometimes we become so obsessed with deep cuts and chopping ability that we forget the final goal. I have used the spike technique before and it works great, especially on dead wood.

I find my NMFSH out-chops my KDSH... But the KDSH is NOWHERE near as tiring.

The KDSH is FUN, its a grown up toy, get it and throw it, you will love it. It was born to fly!
