A couple of weeks ago I bought a CQC7 non-wave, and a CQC10. Both plan edge satin finish. I could not bring myself to carry either until I had a chance to handle a CQC7 wave.

It came today. When I got home from the office I sat and played with both.

The 7 wave is in my pocket.

Of course my thought was to sell the ones I decided not to carry.

Not. I am keeping the 10. I just know it will end up being carred eventually.

And I thought I was through buying knives with my Benchmade M2 and AFCK in M2. Then this Emmerson thing - all I really wanted to do was try the Emmerson edge.

Now three - I will sell the CQC7 non-wave - really - for sure - really - eventually????

Dam knife forums anyway. Keeps costing me money.

Gratz on your purchases. I wish I had bought a PE instead, for the SE hasn't proven its additional value due to my usage patron, taken an significant length of the edge and makes fine work even more difficult.

154cm is more than adequate for the Emerson folders, tough and hard, yet sharpen-able. besides the ergonomics, the wave is the best thing on most EKI folders. Still can't wip the grin off my face every time I wave

I decided to carry the CQC10. I like the feel better than the 7. That being said, I quickly came to the conclusion that the Emerson really takes some getting used to with the Emerson grind. I really don't care for it (or am not used to it) for an "all round" knife. So now I find myself carrying s Spyderco Kiwi in the pocket for some utility chores.

I must admit, I am ruining several pair of jeans with the wave - it is really addictive!!

The 10 is nice, i like the opening hole on that knife

The grind on the EKIs can take a bit of getting used to. I remember when i got my first CG Emerson i found it a bit nippy but soon got to grips with it.
The 10 has a V grind so i found it to be ok, the edge bevel being on one side has never made much difference to me personaly. its the same with the 12s, commanders, Persians, 8s, 14s etc. only my Kerambits, La griffes, 7s and P.sark are an actual chisel grind.:)

and yup, the old droors take a beating with the wave :grumpy:
