Just wanted to ask if there really IS a difference between a BK2 and a "BK2 camp-panion"?
my friend has a BK2 and says "it's not the same", he says that its "moar or less is the same as a BK2, just a little bit shorter...he whipped it out (knife) and said "see?, i'ts shorter"...just wanted to ask the professionals...

To the best of my knowledge it's the same thing, call your friend on his bs. Check the database that bladite has set up, it's the holy grail of becker knowledge.

BK-2 is the Model number. Companion is the name. Your buddy is wrong.:p

I bet the length difference is due to the fact his is the old style without the hammer extension at the rear of the handle and yours is a more recent version with that on it, hence the extra length.

Only possible differences among the Bk-2 campanion line is through the generations. For example there is a thinner model ( 3/16 instead of 1/4) a model with serrations, a hard chrome model, a grey primer model, and currently the model with the extended hammer pommel. At the top of the page is a model FAQ, check out all the info and then go school your buddy :D

Nah, these guys are all wrong. Tell your buddy he bought a chinese knock-off and got gypped.

they're all crap. send them to me for authentication :)

yes. machax is the true blade.

Callin' BS on that one.

What's been said.

Campanion = BK2.

BK2 has been made by 4 manufacturers, and has been through a few variations, most notably, the serrated model, and the Gen1/Gen2 Kabar versions. BK2 2nd Gen is the current model being produced, and its the best IMO.
