The different bug logo depending on country of origin.

I've noticed that the bug logo is slightly different depending on were in the world the Spyderco knife is made.

Is this some anti counterfeit thing, or just a little detail for no reason?

If it is an anti counterfeit thing, would it be OK to post pictures of the different ones? It would seem like a quick way to identify a fake, unless the counterfeiters have taken the time copy this to. I'm sure they at least are aware of it if they have half a brain.

If it is OK to post pictures, does anyone have close up pictures of the bug on Italian and Chinese knives? So far I only have US, Japanese and Taiwanese made Spydercos and I'm curious what the other variants of the bug looks like.

I have never noticed that! Thanks for the heads up. I just checked some Golden, Maniago, and Seki models, and they are indeed a little different between manufacturer locations.

For those that haven't already done so, put the Taiwan bug under a loupe or magnifier with a light on it. Might find it interesting. :D

Does anybody have a picture of the Italian logo?
Best I can do with my P&S.
Both are cropped pics of my SPY-DK's bug.

This one is cropped a bit tighter and I used a filter to bring out the horizontal lines a bit more.
