Here is the results of Me, Tom Ferry and Paul Long. You've seen this bowie before but its now complete.

W-2 steel, clay coat heat treat, 1018 fittings, take down construction, mammoth scales, T Ferry engraving and P Long cross draw sheath.

Extremely nice package. What I really like, with a good eye for detail, is the matching colors of the sheath and the ivory.

Thats our friend Paul with the good eye. Notice how unadorned the sheath is? Not typical of the usual P Long's work. The time he saved on the simplicity of the front he spent on the complexity of design on the back with the cross draw loop. I had him scratching his head on this sheath. :)
 
I wouldn't want to be that doctor's patient-

nurse- "are you sure we need to amputate- again?"

doctor- "um, yes, of course we do. I think that mole might be cancerous."

nurse- "handle and bone saw?"

doctor- "no, just pass me my bowie."

nurse- "I think I'm going to have to call the cops."

Really like your new bowie. Three professionals can't go wrong! Paul's sheath works well for this knife. He has quite the knack for that. :thumbup:

Is the lower handle frame grooved like the top? Gives the handle a nice touch from above.

Yes the underside is grooved up half way. Good question.:thumbup:
 
Bruce that is very nice. It is one I would love to take apart. will you have it at blade west is it the knife your going to put in the competition tell me more.

Thanks Dave,
We are going to the Chicago Show instead of Blade West this year. They are the same dates and I hope the heck I made the right choice. I bought the tickets and paid the table fee already so its a done deal. This knife belongs to Joe Shredd.
 
Bruce I hope you made the right choice to. we will miss you at the show but not in the bowie competition.;)
