Okay so one of my buddies made a knife 100% with a Dremel tool. He has issued me a challenge to do the same. I'm starting to question if he really did it, although the knife did look like crap. Has anyone else done this? I do a lot of work on my knives with my Dremel but I have not completely convinced myself on how I'm gonna do the entire knife with this tool. Should be an interesting yet very long build.

I've done it and would rather stick with files if my grinder died. Have fun!

I would think that a small Scandi grind type knife would be possible. Cutoff wheels for the profile, sanding drums for the grind and edge...

But, I'm with James, files and paper would be my first choice in this scenario.

Dremel is useful, but this sounds a bit like a pointless challenge. At some point you have to shift to hand work because even the finest sanding wheels for a Dremel don't get you to a usable finish.

Dremel tools are great for things like buffing small parts like guards.
