Went to the early show today, and while it certainly isn't "high theater", I have to admit I haven't laughed that hard since Smokey and the Bandit.

It is a little more racy than the series, but give it a try and you might enjoy it.

p.s. Buck 110 cameo on Luke Duke's (Johnny Knoxville) belt.

I had to laugh this a.m. going into work the radio personalities wre joking about people complaining "it wasn't up to the series standards"...What standards????:p
:D

I'll wait for dvd or cable on this one. I heard Daisy Duke in a scene and she sounded like she was reading from a book.

Was it worth $10? Or is it a strictly matinee?

Paul

Well were I live, movies are still only 5 for matinee and 6 for evening, so either time would be worth it. If people just take it as it is and don't try to analyze it to death and compare everything to the series, they will enjoy it much more.

I doubt she can act since she is a singer. She can, however, dance. That damn video is on every morning when I'm trying to work out. Yeah, she may be hot, but she gets annoying! :p

There's a reason for the mute button on the remote ;)

The Dukes of Hazzard was my all time favourite tv show, but I'm not too sure about this movie.

I think they chose the wrong actors for it.

Referring to the current DOH cast as "actors" is extreme hyperbole :D

Point taken, Nord.

But the list of colorful pejoratives I'd normally apply to them would be frowned upon in this forum.

Hehe- the critics have not been kind. One I listened to described it as "A void where a movie ought to be."

Thanks much for the recommendation. I've heard this movie panned by nearly everyone and honestly didn't plan on seeing it. That was, until I read this thread yesterday. I went to the noon show today and had a blast! Hilarious! Great soundtrack too. I think the roles of Bo and Luke were cast perfectly. As was Jesse and Cooter. Roscoe was, unfortunately, miscasted (is that a word?). Simson could use some acting lessons but did a good job overall.

Thanks again for the thread. ;)

Frank

With a body like that does she need to?

:D

If folks will go and do two things:

1. Don't expect the series.
2. Let the movie stand on it's own and don't try to "read" the original series into it.

It was suprisingly funny.

PS. Saw March of the Penguins tonight, really neat film!

Ben "Cooter" Jones has said the new movie is vulgar and out of touch with the family values of the tv show. Thats right, booty shorts and shotguns!

Just got back, and I've got to say I enjoyed the ride! This isn't any type of masterpiece, but it's a lot of fun and plenty entertaining. Fast cars, hot women and lots of chase scenes are nearly always worth seeing. Plus it was funny. I loved the Super Troopers cameo. :)

I haven't seen it yet. I did see the Critics Reviews on Yahoo. A lot of the critics didn't like the movie at all. For me that's a good sign that I'll like it. I always say "If the Critics hate it, then it's got to be good"!!!.

Yeah I saw him interviewed several times, and now having seen the movie, I'm not sure where he gets some of what he is saying. Other than the use of 4 letter words, I didn't find it anymore vulgar than the series.

Of course he makes his living now from selling original DOH memorabilia, so I wonder if he isn't just trying to stir controversy to gain attention for his store?

HAHA...how true!

I have always thought that film critics are actually failed film students.

Those than can do, those that can't critique them!
