Yes, yet another thread on Blade '11 but I really wanted to let everyone to know how great it was. I am not trying to rub salt for anyone who could not make it. Hope you make it in the future. But I did want to say thanks, and give my take on the offerings.
First, thanks to the Busse family. I know everyone says it, but if you have ever been you know why. To start you have Amy. She is so happy to see you it is almost embarrasing. I was thinking the whole time, "you are the cool one". Then everyone behind the counter is happy to answer your questions and listen to your comments. After that they want to buy you dinner. Now sure, their knives are expensive and you spend a lot of money, but you know what- I have spent a lot of money on SIG, Browing, Colt, Randall, etc. and they have never taken me to dinner, sometimes not even thanks. Talk about going the extra mile. Never more true than with Jerry and Busse family.
On top of that you have all the cool people. Missed some people I had hoped to see again (JimmyJones, JRoden, Oge14), but met new ones just as cool. Seriously, I didn't get as many knives as I thought I was going to, but I have to say just meeting everyone was worth the trip even if I didn't get any knives (almost). I am not even going to pretend to remember eveyone's names, let alone their forum names. I can honestly say I didn't meet anyone I didn't enjoy visiting with. But I didn't get to meet eveyone. So thanks to all of you for making it such a great blade show. Tim, Scott, Eric, my Indiana friends, BananaClip (I still want to help you
), Pork fried Rice (thank Billy again), monsterdog and mrs., Shane, Rob and Karen, Jeff, the "beautiful" people (you guys rocked), Pvt. Klink, Drew, and everyone else who's name escapes me. And it was good to see friends from last year KH, DB, Mike, and Jaxx. Seriously, thank you all for making it such a fun trip.
Attendees couldn't get a lot of the new models at the show or preorder, so the trough will be full. It was different than last year. But we have some major Bussekin goodness headed our way. If I could get a second job with my contract I would. As it is, I am going to drive over to GA to buy lottery tickets. The Basics are keeping me up at night. I cannot wait. You cannot beat INFI and ResC for a user. Just on a badness scale the SWKW War Hawk has it to a very high degree, and think the 911 is going to be a good chopper. SYKCO has some models I can't wait to get my hands on. But the Basics did it for me. I have to say the AA was a bit disappointing. Only due to the fact that it did not fit my hand very well. But a truly awesome knife.
Sorry to the people I proxied for if I couldn't find what you were looking for. Glad I could help those I could.
Again, thanks everyone for making it so fun. Hope to see you next year
