Hi all,

I just received my Carl Schlieper (German Eye) large Stockman, abnd I do think that the yellow plastic scales actually give it a pretty sophisticated modern look!
A review will eventually happen as part of my video review series, for now only a few pictures (in the last one I compare it with my beloved Carl Schlieper Copperhead):

Now that's EDC for me!

Man, just when I thought I had my mind made up on a Case Yeler handle Stockman...

How's the f/f, and what kind of steel is she?

Sure looks good in the pics!

In my pocket is my EYE BRAND 4 1/4" stockman. It looks just the same excepting all three of my blades are cured, dark and pretty.
To he who asked, these pocketknives have outstanding steel that holds a ferocious edge. This afternoon I picked all the remaining tomatoes , green and red , in the garden as we will have a hard freeze and snow tonight. Afterwards I sat down on the step over by the flowerbed and whittled a bunch of sticks lying on the grond from the tree back of me. I mean to tell you whittled up a pile, A PILE I TELL YOU, of chips and shavings from those sticks for the better part of an hour or so. When I got done and came into the house I checked the sheepfoot blade I whittled with and it would still shave as smooth as you please.

Congratulations on the fine purchase! I love that match-strike long-pull. If your stockman is anything like my EYE BRAND yellow-handled sodbuster, you're going to really love the steel. Whoever does the heat treat really knows their way around steel.

as others have said: a very decent carbon steel

f/f is mostly very nice, but the spine was a bit rough out of the box, now ok.
