I am in search of a Spyderco knife that I am getting conflicting information on. I have heard from one source that the G-10 Harpy is no longer made. I heard from another source I respectfully regard as valid that they still make the G-10 Harpy over in Japan. First of all can anyone here tell me a little more about the knife? Second can anyone tell me where I might be able to get one? :)

The G-10 Harpy was discontinued around '98 or so. I have not heard anything about them being produced in Japan. The G-10 version has the same blade shape and dimensions as the current Harpys being produced. The handle on the G-10 is a bit thicker than the Stainless Harpys due to the G-10 on top of the steel frame. It was a lock back with a removable, but non-reversible pocket clip. The blades steel esacpes me. Sometimes you can catch one one fleabay or even in the Trading Forums here. Hope this helps.

Ok guys thanks for the feedback. Say Hateman the one that I currently have has ATS-55 blade steel. I had heard that they made a few of them with VG-10. I have bought some stuff from Sunblades so I will check with him. I also put up on the "Knives Wanted" part of the EXCHANGE portion of Bladeforums a plea for anyone to sell me one. Actually I have one NIB I obtained in a trade which I don't want to touch but I would really like to have a used one. OK if anyone knows where I can find it then let me know. Thanks a million Guys :) JD Spydo

Doh! I just traded one not too long ago. It was ATS-55, with a steel liner on one side only. Nice knife, worth looking around for.

The g10 comes only in ATS-55. I'd use your NIB one. The collector value is minimal, unless someone is a spydie nut and wants one. They didn't sell well when new. I've never seen an after market one that even reached MSRP.

Gary Moore @ moorecutlery.com ( IF THAT DOESN'T LOAD.....TRY:
http://www.knives.cx/ ) he has one brand new in the box. I know this because I was checking it out today.

call him or e-mail him to get the info.

All of his information can be found on his website.

Trust me, Gary is a great guy. If you don't mind doing it........mention my name, Adam & he will be happy to help you out.

Hello All: And thanks a million "sixfootdeep" for leting me know I could find a G-10 Harpy.

I have a Harpy question to ask all of the Spyderheads here on Bladeforums. When is that ZDP-189 Harpy going to be released? Along with the other Spyders which is going to be in a limited run with ZDP-189. :)
