So the title is a little enigmatic . I guess thats the point and I,ll get to the point . One of the government websites I go to demanded 128 bit encryption of me and if I didn,t supply it my information stored on the site would be with-held from me . O:K: , I,m laying it on a bit thick ! L:O:L The site even gave me a link to go get the update . Unfortunately this encryption only seemed available as part of a total window upgrade . No prob says I like a babe in the woods or is that a lamb being led to the slaughter . Anyway it sure slaughtered my puter . Maybe my old pentium 2 just didn,t quite have the capacity for it . Everything I did worked slow or not at all except for E-mail . One of my buddies told me to re-install my original version of windows 98 and everything would go back to normal . It worked like a charm except for you guessed it, E-mail . When I try to do a reply or new mail it tells me my address book didn,t load and there might be another little problem as well . How can I get my address book back and get my e-mail back to normal ?

B:T:W: I got the 128 bit encryption upgraded by itself and everything seems to be good . I just can,t mail anybody .

Sorry...but your post doesn't show here either.

Sorry...I had to say that.

There are several things you could try, but none easily supported long distance. Your old addy book may still be there somewhere.

REPLY : Here I am going ,(What have I done now ?) And then I realised that this was a Nastygramn . It was delivered with just the right touch of understatement to instill doubt as to meaning and possible ramifications !
I salute you ! I darn well hope my addy book is still in there somewhere . I have hopes as the message stated that my addy book failed to load not that it had been deleted .

Someone clever will come along...or someone who has made the same mistake and solved it. Hang on and trust that the answer is coming.

Either that, or that a big khukuri will take care of that pesky computer problem for you...
