I am understanding correctly that Buck is discontinuing use of this material?

I don't own a knife with this handle material, but I've always been intrigued by ones with a nice gray and black grain.

Something like this looks nice:

I hadn't read anything about that, but it looks like the only models with Charcoal Dymondwood handles in the 2013 catalog are the Vantage 341 and 346. The Charcoal and Yellow Delrin (Comfort Craft series)are no longer listed either in the catalog or the price list for 2013.

It's a shame if true, They're my two favorite handle options for the slippies.

I've not heard or read this to be the case of Buck discontinuing this handle material. It may drift out and then return on some other models. DM

I have an alpha dorado with charcoal and prefer it to rosewood. was kinda disapointed to see that only rosewood was offered in the alpha series this model year

This from Joe today. He only mentions the yellow delrin, but it's in reference to the charcoal dymondwood (being discontinued) question also. Bummer. I just ordered a couple more of each of them to make sure I have them if a gift giving occasion arises.

"Hello Dave,

Yes. They only take models out if they are being discontinued. Seems those yellow ones were not around for very long but probably not as rare as when we did that back a few years.
Hope this helps.
