I’m getting ready to move out of the house I’ve been living in for the last couple of decades. There was lots of brush to keep my khukuris happy, plus a fireplace insert that wanted to be fed with chopped-up wood.

The new base of operations is on open land, and the house has propane and electric heat. I’ll be a few hundred yards from the beach and the salt spray, with not much in between. My hasiya has seen some use around the place, and my little udhaipur keeps the blackberries under control, but there is not much work for the larger blades.

Also I’m wondering how they’ll deal with the salt air. I’m not much with maintaining unused blades.

Maybe I need to go back and study that video on using a khukuri to fillet salmon.

i heard that "Renaissance Wax" is real good low maint stuff

been thinking of buying some myself

soudns like all you're kukris will be ruined. Let me PM you my address for proper disposal, a free service I offer only to friends ;-)

Living some 300 yds from the sea's me self, I recommend regular inspections and oilings. This is not fool proof. Vigilance is the watch word...

I have a weekly ritual with my khuks. Staying just a stone throw away from the seaside i have the same headache. I guess i could only afford 2 safe queens and the rest are users.
Plenty of baby oil and stash them nice.

Oh yeah when my patience fails i settled for patina..

Howard ask Ad Astra how he manages to keep his khuk's nice. :)

Not too far. We have a little island home here in WA not far from Red Flower's work. It will be a long commute for me so I may get a little apartment in the city too.
