If upon this millenia you could choose but one knife. All hell has broken loose with Y2K, aliens have invaded, and the start of Armagedon. What knife would you choose for ultimate carry, defense, offense, and tool to protect your family?

My response later.

Nah........forget the knife. It is as good as over.
You are fantasising......what you need is to be the member of a really effective Militia.
Now I am fantasising.

Joke.......!!

Tie between Jones Knives Model 23 Survival Knife and a great Kukri.

Steel Heart II or Battle Mistress would be second choice. However if I wanted to lug around that much weight I'd probably opt for a good Kukri.

My apologies........but you blokes cannot be serious !?
The world is stuffed and you are going to rely on a KNIFE ?

Something from Warenski or Loerchner. I would trade that beauty for my life!

Plus 9mm Beretta's, Randall#14's and Spyderco Military's for everybody.....

Just a knife....I am thinking a Busse BM or perhaps two.

Shrike,
Too funny, but what about another automatic gunner? I think your wife could handle a SAW
And BTW who will carry your spare barrel and extra ammo?
Those 203 vests get mighty heavy on the long humps(personal experience)

If things are really as bad as everyone is describing and all I have is one knife. I will take my Benchmade 705 and pick a fight with the biggest meanest SOB I can find to get it over with quick.

I like the thought of the Lorchner or Warenski, splurge with a fine brandy a few friends and the mutts of course. Chainsaw would be nice for the campfire.

For now, I'll stick to what I know will work as well as what I have. That being a Carbon V Trail Master.
Folder?
Military or Carnivour, whichever I can get to first.
Multi-tool?
I just handled a Spyderench today and that puppy is gonna be MINE!

I'm with Mike.....rely on the unmentionable tools. I'd take a multi tool though, in case I need to work on the main tools.

You know Tom, your absolutely right!!
Wish I'd thought of that!
Well said.

My choice would be an M9 bayonet. Of course it would be attached to my pre-ban AR-15!!! No weight allowance for another blade, the rest of the weight alowance would go for extra clips and bandoliers of extra ammo on stripper clips.
