Watching an ad on TV today and it got me into the way-back machine thinking about TV kitchen knives.

There have been TV offerings of ever-sharp wonder knives from the 1960s era Ginzui knives to the present. But none of them seem to use any of the high-end knife alloys of the past or present. Sure, cost is as large part of it, but youmight tink that a really top-dollar knife for the kitchen would sell in the run up to Christmas.

As seen on tv is probably junk.

If you want a kitchen knife that will always be sharp then look at the sandrin knives.

In the earliest commercial, they used a serrated Ginzu slicer to cut thru a can (presumably aluminum) and then slice a tomato to "prove" it would stay sharp.

And, according to the following Wiki article, they're still being made and were once rated a "best buy" by Consumer Reports.

See: Ginzu

So, apparently, you can still buy one if you like. Provide us w/a report on it, if you do

LOL! ;)
