HMMMM what is the process for BIG Satin? Examples??

"BIG" satin stands for Busse Industrial Grade satin.
If you search the term it should come up with threads with pix inside. I'd post 1, but nothing in BIG on this phone to add, sorry

Thanx Jaxx.

For this cost, i think ill throw my hat in the ring. Hoping for NO ORANGE...haunts me in the grab bag thoughts!

Big Satin is one of the best "pretty user" finishes. It looks like Satin with crosshatch pattern from the grinder so you won't notice scratches as easily as with Satin. It's like a really nicely ground comp finish.

Thanks Chris...that sounds lovely :)

I'm confused about the pricing and special offer difference, is the special offer a different finish or handle?
The special offer just means you don't get to choose the handle color/material. Basically it allows them to make a bunch pre-drop and just box them up and ship them out.

If you want to pick your handle material, you'll have to pay more. By pre making them it could speed the production process up and you can always find HOGs looking for what you've got if you don't like it.

SR77 is tough stuff. I believe it's used in industrial auger and jackhammer bits. With the Busse heat treatment, this will be a nuke tough knife.

Awesome. I'm in.
Any senior HOG can give me a quick tutorial about SR-77?

Very tough and abuse resistant. Of all Bussekin steels probably the lowest in edge holding, but easy to resharpen. ( not speaking from experience, just what I have gleaned over the years. ) Like all cutlery steels, it involves trade-offs and choices.

The full height flat grind is very nice.
