I've held off ordering any knives from the Ergo series until I could handle them in person, because I wasn't sure how lefty friendly they are. In fact one recent magazine blurb I read actually stated something like "left handed users your out of luck, these are right handed knives only".
Well that's just not true.
Yesterday while in Eddyville, KY, I stopped in at the Shepard Hills/Chicago Cutlery store by the Outlet Mall, since they carry a large selection of Buck Knives. When I saw that they had the entire line of Ergo Hunters both folding and fixed blades, I asked if I could examine them, since this was the first time I've seen them not in blister packs. The lady was nice enough to unlock the cabinet and let me dig in, and I held every model in the Ergo line, folder and fixed from big to small, and all different handle materials, and they all felt just fine to this southpaw.
I ended up buying the 597 folder in 12C27!
