I have decided to hold off spending for a while until my finances are looking better - luckily I have all the knives I need anyway. Then I get the E-Mail from knife centre with the specials and new stuff - damn, that ESEE Machete will have to go on my list of stuff to get when I can spare some money. It isn't much dearer than the Izula and has Micarta scales!

Mine is en route on the mail truck. I had back and forthed about it for the whole time they were on pre-order at places and finally broke down and decided I should try one. When I did, The Knife Connection was only showing 2 remaining in stock. It will be my first personal machete. I’ve used them a bit in the past, but have always looked at the axe and saw as the most useful tools in the Missouri woods. I think I might change my mind.

I hope its at my house today when I get home! I was on the fence about it until I spent a few hours working a tramotina over. I had huge blisters from the rough plastic handle. I was going to sand them down or try some with wood handles but decided to spring for the micarta. Plus its a good looking machete.

Yeah it’s too bad TKC ships USPS. Their tracking system is worthless. “Shipping information received” then I get home and it’s on the porch is the way it generally goes. I prefer to track to the minute via UPS. :D

Mine just got here. I touched up the blade just a little. Wiped it down with the Tuf-Cloth and added a basic lanyard. If my wife had not gotten back from her mothers I would be using it to help me with some yard work. She did not find that too funny so I guess I will have to wait a little longer to try it out. I thought it did a beautiful job on the top of the boxwood. My first impression is that it is very nice. Good balance, great handle and the sheath is functional.
