I know what I am talking about does not currently exist but I have to bring it up. My problem, like most of you here, is that I can not find that perfect knife. Where my problem differs is that I know what that would be. I want one knife I can carry everywhere.
If I go to church I want to carry the same knife that I go camping with. If I go to a picnic I want to carry that same knife into the ocean. I also do not want that knife to cost me hundreds of dollars.

The best examples I can give of this is what I currently rotate in my EDC. I have a small sebenza that I carry on a normal basis, I love it. The problem is the cost of it, I worry about loosing it or beating it up to hard. When I am out kayaking, fishing or diving my sebenza is not going to be in my pocket. I instead have to make sure I am carrying my Spyderco H1 Salt. I love both knives but hate having to switch up. If I go to church or a family picnic I switch out and carry my framelock Scallion. This is small enough to not scare off most of the sheeple but sharp enough and big enough to get most jobs done.

What do I want? A knife the size and friendliness of a scallion, with the rust proofing of a spyderco H1, the titanium feel of the sebenza and the price tag under $100.00. If this comes out I will get 10 of them. That way if I loose one, or break one, I will know I have more at home. I often carry multiple knives and am sure I always will. What I am looking for is that one knife that is always there no matter the situation. Also that one knife that I can pass down the line when I am too old to give a damn.

Anybody else feel the same?

I honestly cannot say I feel the same. I love variety and I love switching up what I carry. I'll carry something at work, but when I get home something else will go in my pocket. If I'm going out somewhere I'll switch up again. Looking for that one knife to suit all needs is a dream. A nice dream, but a dream nonetheless.

If Spyderco came out with a Ti Sage w/ H1 steel I'm thinking that it would be about what you're looking for.

The first thing I though of was a small Sebenza, but you're right about the cost.

This is what my GF carries. It's an OD-1 that I put a thuya burl handle on. It's classy looking, but tough and functional. And cheap.

The steel isn't H1, but I'd be hard pressed to get it to rust. The stock G10 scale is quality and it isn't too hard to replace with just about anything else you like.

Variety is the spice of life as they say.

I like having lots of good knives to use for different things, not to mention my tastes in blade
shape, size and handle material change from one sort to another and back again over time as well.

the everywhere knife: the one(s) I have on me. Currently a Spyderco Military BG42/CF.

If I was going in the ocean, I would need an H1 knife because I hate rust in the pivot of my knives.

Well, I carry a SAK almost everywhere and depending on the situation, I also carry a second knive. A SAK usually provides me with most of the tools I need and for heavier or more specialist tasks, there's a number of specific knives that I can choose of. And in fact, I love it to use different knives.

My normal EDC is a SAK Tinker, but I love variety and like taking turns with additional knives for different situations. That's why I own so many of the darn things. :D

I just picked this up for less than $30. Seems useful.

And this one I carry almost everyday.

The first is a Gerber Suspension and the second is the SOG Trident. The SOG has a very durable "kevlar" type handle, so it is very light and clips to my pocket so I hardly notice it.

i used to say my BM710 ruined knife shopping, for me, because there just wasn't anythingelse i needed after getting it. i carried it EVERYWHERE for years. now my Nimravus is kind of the same way. the Nim is small enough to wear with dress clothes (with the right sheath), big enough to get by in the woods, nice enough to feel like you have a decent/cool knife, cheap enough where you're not scared to make it work. out of every knife i've ever purchased, it's without a doubt my favorite. i plan on being burried with this knife.
