Warning to anyone within 100 miles of columbus Ohio. The **** up fairy attacked me not too long ago and is probably on its way to your shop next.Theres no telling how fast it can fly, arm yourself accordingly :)
I don't know who decided it was my day to distract the the little bastid so the rest of you could get some work done, but you could have warned me:mad: ;) I was just trying to fit some bone scales to a knife with double bolsters. Had the first one done, the second one was just a little too long. Less than a second at the disc sander with a 120 grit disc and suddenly the damned thing is an 1/8" shorter and way to short to use.I don't know if one peice was softer than the other or what. the end of it was pretty mjch vaporized on contact. Now I have this nice $9 set of scales chopped up into peices too big to throw away and too small to have much chance at using them later. Not to mention I have to come up with something different for this knife.I tihnk I'm done in the shop for today. I think I'll go ride that mare that was trying to buck me off yesterday.

so that's what happend wednesday, I was on installation, the tools wouldn't work right, I'm on a ladder and the extention cord got stuck. I got down and got it free. I get back up on the ladder and it's stuck again. 4 times in a row. I got a nail in my knee. the walls were so far out of plumb that we had to tear them out to set the cabints properly, one of the cabinets was built wrong and I had to change it on sight. a one person job took three people to do. I missed an outlet now I have to go back and take them back down.

there's more, but I won't bore you. I's not knife relate. lets just say that everything I toutched turned to sh**.

I'm glad he seams to be gone now, the%^##&^(&*^)&()*YI&^%$ can just stay away:mad:

That's not good. I am in Troy, OH.......hopefully he heads east!

Be that as it may.....I will load the 12G and blast the sucker out of the air for everyone!

That would have been around the time I was playing with my new grinder with a scotchbrite belt, marvelling at the wondrous effect I was getting on a folder blade...I was so dumbstruck I turned the blade and laid it against the belt POINT UP! Naturally, it wasn't long before the blade was seized from my fingies and fired mas rapido into my stomach, thankfully tang first. Lesson learned, no more goofing off.
And then there's last Sunday, when I had my scales nicely matched to my bolsters on another knife, when I (thru tiredness) drilled a through hole where there should have been a blind hole in one scale. About that time my wife arrived home with a friend for coffee and I said they had better just leave me alone for 30 mins while I cooled off:rolleyes:

Geez, that sucks! :(

But let's keep it on the up side here... that could have been a $200 set of blue/green mammoth scales. So you have ($200-$9=) 191 reasons to be glad that it wasn't worse :)

Good idea to leave the shop and I'm sure it will be better next time you get out there!

It must be the moon or something in the air, My week hasn't been the best either. Woke up Wednesday to find my shop buddy (12yr old yellow lab) dead on the front porch. Just starting to get over that and tonight my son took my truck to go to a school function, missed a curve on the gravel road and messed up the front end, thank God he wasn't hurt. I haven't been in the shop all week or hard telling what might have went wrong. They say things happen in 3, I'm scared to find out what the third thing might be. I know from the past God won't let more happen to us then we can handle but it can sure get close. Good luck to all and keep that sucker out of Missouri.

Xrayed, if you get the chance shoot him twice :D

Dadgummit Ferret, don't go messin around with those scotchbrite belts and gettin hurt! Our little race is the best motivation I got!:D

xrayed, if ya blast that little sucker make sure the wind is blow'in north, east or west. I don't need even the slighest micro-blobb whipp'in it's way down here. #4 shot otta do it.

bill, i am very sorry to hear about your shop bud going off to the happy hunting ground.i dont have any kids. my dog is my biz partner, head of security and spirtitual adviser. maybe you should take your son down to the pound and get a puppy/dog that wants to get into the knife biz.

Later on yesterday My dad and I were replacing a couple screen doors. We had the first one done and I was trying to go through it to get some tools.Tripped on some other stuff and fell head first through the closed door. Punched my head through the screen at the top, ripped the door out of the frame and mangled the hell out of it. Its nothing but twisted metal junk now. It was bad enough to have done that, but it was through a brand new door that had been installed for less than an hour.

I swear that he must be in the air around here also,Yesterday it seemed like everything I touched went wrong.I was finishing up the Damascus for all you guys that ordered some and EVERY time I tried to do the last and final weld something would mess up,I didn't ruin any but I got so D$%%flustrated I just had to stop and now I am on my way out to the shop to see if I can make things work today,
Boy just when you think everything is back on track something has to go and mess up....
I think I need to spend the whole day tomorrow at church and do some major thinking and talking with the big man!!!:)
Hope everybody elses days get better.

ROTFLMAO!!! I like that. I laughed enough that the girlfriend had to come check out the picture. I was visited for a time yesterday and had to remake some wedding bands I'm working on. Her cousin, the head up yer ass fairy stayed around though. It helps to put the knives IN the oven when tempering!
