:D What can I say? It's great!

Too bad this model didn't receive the enthusiasm it deserved, because it excels both functionally and aesthetically. The grip isn't as chunky as many of the other HI big blades, making it much more manageable for a smaller guy like me. It's well balanced despite being heavy, and the contour of the hilt allows you to slip your grip and deliver a very powerful cut.

The carving on the scabbard, though, is what sets it apart; absolutely lovely. I didn't realize there would be carving on both sides, which was a very pleasant surprise! Personally, I'll never understand why anyone would prefer a plain version over one that's decorated, but hey, different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Anyway, I hope to have pix of it in the near future, as the old ones from the forum thread were lost in that Photopoint debacle.

I wish I could have got one :( The girlfriend drew the line at spending that much on one of my toys. The Falcata will always be on my wish list! Great to hear that one found a good home. :)

I actually bought one of the plain ones. I love it also! I had always wanted a Falcata of quality. I now have one. Over the last few months, I have been following the teachings on this forum on handle finishing. My handle is looking better all the time. They are a sweet design, that is for sure. I look forward to testing mine outside in the spring.

C'mon dewingrm -- don't be *-whipped! :p (I only say that now because I'm single! :( )

Uncle Bill said there was still one more left, so you should grab it before the Falcata passes into the HI history books.

There's been some discussion of karma here lately, and I like to think my Falcata getting to me was just that. I was dying for one back in November but was flat broke and had to pass; it was destiny that they came back around at exactly the time I got that little scholarship grant, which happened to be the exact amount of money the Falcata cost!

Must've been because I did my annual "sweeping the dust off my murtis" ritual on New Year's... ;)

ArchAngel,

Why wait till spring?

Yes they do, Uncle Bill! It's like I got the grant specifically to buy that Falcata.

Naturally, it begs the question: If the gods arranged for me to have it, what do they intend for me to do with it?
