I have become very impressed with the Fallkniven line of knives. I set out to buy a few good hunting knives for this fall, and the Njord (NL3) is a nice addition to the TK1 I got last week. Fit and finish are excellent and, of course, it arrived razor sharp out of the box. Absolutely beautiful and heavy-duty sheath.

Basics: 10 1/2" overall. 5 7/8" Laminated VG-10 Steel blade is heat treated to HRC 59. Stacked Leather ox hide handle with Stainless guard and Aluminum butt. Handmade in Sweden.

I had read some reviews of the Njord and the only negative I've seen concerns the handle length. I could see where a very large hand might welcome an extra 3/4" to 1" of length. However, for a medium size hand, like mine, it's perfect. The stacked ox leather provides a good grip and should only improve with time.

Again, a superb job Peter and Eric at Fallkniven!

Looks awesome. I bet it will be very handy. I do believe the knives for Fall. are made in Japan for the company.

thats a duo to be proud of

guess u'll be carrying a fair share of weight in steel when hunting then, ey?
hehe

everytime i go out hiking, i carry several kilos of steel

in fact often the only reason why i go out hiking is for playing with my knives

The laminated blade steel is made by Takefu Special Steel Co. Ltd, in Japan. For this knife, the rest is done by Peter and his crew in Sweden. But, it will be very handy! :)

I hunt more duck and dove, than deer and elk. The TK1 is great for the former, the NL3 for the latter. I'm set!

Thank you, now I know a bit more about a great knife company. Have fun and post any pics if you can if the Njord in use.

Halbie, you got the knife fever real bad, like the rest us......once you have a Fall., get another! Or you start thinking about what new knife you want as soon as you have played with the the last "new knife" for a short time.

Yeah, my wife is always asking me why I play with my knife: "Am I not enough? Watcha want, Baby?"

A new and even bigger knife. Now, shake me up a Martini! Family Guy is on in a few minutes!

Yes, this is the way it really happens. No embellishment. Honest. ;)

Hi Guy's,
Knife addiction is a bear, tuff thing to shake, but I really like my Njord, I'm glad I got mine, just be careful to chop with it in extremely cold weather, that VG 10 is a really hard steel, I don't know if the cold, or if its just that hard, it can chip.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year,
Paul
