Well, the SAR5 arrived!! Its pretty sweet! I agree with Jerry about the handle though. Its clunky. No biggie. I tend to like messing with stuff anyway...:p

Man, that smoothed FFBM handle looks SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSWWWWWWEEEEEEEET!

Andy,

I expect that clunky handle will be 'fiddled' down to size in no time.:thumbup:

Nice collection!

I got a SAR also but am real happy with it. Scales are a little fat but that just guarantees a good grip, even when slippery. SAR may be the best all-around user yet in terms of size and profile.

Hey Andy,
What are your plans with the BATAC?

Man, I'm very undecided on that. First thing I've got to do is lap off the pitted flats. I'm going to leave the bevels as ground, but the flats have to get smoothed. Then I'm stuck. Do I want to do an ironwood handle, or a mikarta handle, or maybe put some antler on some mikarta. I'm hoping it'll start speaking of what kind of handle to put on it as I lap those flats.;)

Ill start the chant now....." ANTLER ANTLER ANTLER ANTLER!!!!"

We'll see. Antler stinks so bad to sand that I've only used it twice. But Blade show's coming up, so maybe I'll find a good piece there...

They seem to get along fine ;)

thats the mistress i have, how much did you have to sand to get that look?

10 or 15 minutes is all it took. Would have been less but I was being really careful not to scratch the finish at the tang. Start with a half round bastard file and get'r done.
