A long, long time ago, I read a couple of articles in American Survival Guide about Busse knives, and how gosh darned awesome they are. Although I doubt I'd ever spent more than $50 on a knife before that, I splurged and ordered three. And "two weeks" later, there was a package at my door. (Note that a Week is as a Year to the Bossman, or so it was back in the Day.)
Y2K came and went without incident, but a few years later, the SHBM ran off with my soon-to-be ex-wife.
Not too long after, the SHSH disappeared, along with the SHBA. She said she had no idea where they went, but I couldn't help but suspect....
Fast forward a few years, and she's remarried and moved to England, and the faithless SHBM slunk back home, but still no word from the the Steel Heart or the Badger.
A couple more years pass, and then today my son said he had a couple things in the trunk of his car that he'd found while cleaning out the house that he thought were mine.
And darned if he wasn't right.
I guess they must have gotten packed up by mistake all those years ago.
Anyway, now the family's all back together again.
