I don’t normally name knives, but this one wanted to be called The Fighting Ray. What do you think?

Steel – 1075 & 15N20
Knife dimensions:
Overall length – 13 inches
Blade length – 8 inches
Blade width – 1 1/2 inches
Handle – Desert Ironwood
Guard – 1075 & 15N20
Pin – Stainless

Sheath – Leather and Ray Skin
It weighs – 7.8 oz. and the balance point is at the guard.

Thanks for stopping by,
Ken

Very nice indeed!

Love the Damascus & Ironwood, the handle looks comfortable and I like how the guard tapers. Nice sheath too!

Ken, has the Haywood 2016 schedule been determined yet? I attended my Intro. course there in 2009, very nice facility.

Ken, Great job. As Kevin said best of yours to date. Great Damascus and awesome sheath!

I love W's, especially when they're tiled like that rather than laddered or accordioned. Looking good.

Thanks Ken

That Survival Knife class sounds like fun!

I really like that knife. I would like it even if it was monosteel, and the pattern welding adds a great deal.

I have questions, or a question. If you don't mind, how did you shape the frog button for the sheath? I have wanted to make something like that, and I would probably just file the damn thing to shape. But, I wanted to ask, because you have probably come up with something better that than. Again, if you don't mind. I assume it's not a trade secret...
thanks,
Kevin

Kevin and Travis, thanks for the positive comments.

Kevin, I cut the general shape with a ban saw, then used files to round all the edges and finished up on the grinder. To help on the grinder I cut the belts down to 1/4 inch wide belts so as to get into the narrow areas.
