With Dwight McLemore's work is it best to have both books on the subject or is his 3 set video a visual representation of his books?

All of them if you can do it. The books are good reference material but sometimes have a difficult time explaining the proper body/hand positioning. The videos help.

I found the second book was redundant and repetitive of the first. The videos, combined with the 2nd book, should do the trick, IMO,

If you have to choose, go with the DVDs. There are excellent resources, and the production quality is top notch. The books work well also, as there is extensive text accompanying the diagrams, and the techniques are clearly described and outlined. If you can find a coupon to use on a combined purchase, it's well worth the investment.
