One of the fine bladesmiths on this forum agreed to make some 1095 blades for me according to my drawing. He shipped me two for inspection and is shipping out the other eight.

I like small knives, I like big ones too but personally never carry anything over 6” and even that’s rare. These two fingered blades are 4 ½” long with a 2 3/16” blade. I finished up this one quickly with a “Vintage Tweed” micarta I made up last month for a SAK re-handle project. I didn’t do any treatment or polishing to the blade so it is still back from the forge. I made up the Kydex sheath when I got home from work yesterday. I still haven't totally figured out the rivets yet, just the one split which is an improvement.

The other blade is getting the full stone polishing and I haven’t settled on the type of handle slabs I’ll use.

The back of this little knife throws some crazy sparks off of my 5” by 3/8” ferro rod. Most of these will be going out to friends and family at Christmas and to 3 of my hunting buddies at an upcoming bow hunt early in November.

I’ve already put in a request for 10 more.

Yes, These little knives don't use up too much material. I still want to put the tweed on a Vic Classic.

Looks gorgeous

Does it have a good feel in the hand? It looks like it would be comfortable to hold.

Yeah, if feels pretty good, two good fingers of grip plus you can really choke up on the blade by pinching it between the thumb and pointer finger then holding the handle with the lenght of the middle/bird finger :). A decent lanyard extends the grip.

I had to look at the Spyderco dragonfly, I’m not familiar with Spyderco, I can see where it would. The handle angle is about the same, the proportions of blade to handle are different, my blade looks a little larger and the back of the blade follows the same curve geometry.

I just sketched out what I wanted according to need and experience with a bit of aesthetics thrown in to make, what to me, is a pleasing design.

I just received the rest of the first ten, there is a good bit of variation but that is expected of hand made blades. Mike can water cut the exact pattern but I like variation.

Thanks Mike, I really appreciate you making these blades for me. I’ve had an inquiry from guy who wanted to know if you would do this for him, I told him to PM you.

The vintage tweed micarta is my second attempt at making my own micarta, my guitar playing buddies got a kick out of the Tweed SAK.

Neat knife, but the best part in my mind anyway is the micarta. That is a cool design!
