Well sort of...

TK turned this Endura 4 into a scalpel. It's so sharp, I won't even try to touch it up as I would a normal factory edge.

With the original cost + the regrind, it ran about $120. Not too bad for a ZDP razor. The light weight and thin profile make it an easy EDC.

is the logo pressed into the blade?

i doubt it , it's most likely laser etched .

crazy coincidence , yesterday i to received my endura4 FFG (non-TK model) , even though the factory edge is really good i will be giving it the jimnolimit treatment and finishing with my 3000 and 6000 grit waterstones and a finale on the leather strope .

I'd have to be a real obsessive-compulsive nut to try to improve on the edge TK put on it. I asked for a 10/1000ths edge. It's not going to be a hard-use knife, but it will be handy in case I ever have to perform emergency surgery.:p

i wouldn't do anything to a knife that has been professionally sharpened , but i didn't get a custom krein grind so i has to give it a custom jimnolimit grid .

I am in complete agreement with you, Jim. The only factory edges I've ever left alone were a couple Japanese "Damascus" VG-10 chef knives that were scary sharp out of the box, and TK's regrinds.

Factory edges from Spyderco are pretty good, but you can definitely hone them to a finer degree with a few extra strokes on a extra-fine grit DMT and razor strop.

Tom Krein's edges are some of the few I don't sharpen before using. They are tree topping sharp with serious teeth as it is a 120 grit edge. The .010" FFG Endura IV in ZDP is a great knife. I have used the crap out of mine, and it went out on a passaround (and is going on another) and that edge is plenty strong for anything that has been thrown at it. As long as you aren't twisting very hard out of a bad cut or trying to cut metal the edge holds up just fine for EDC work, it really doesn't need to be babied.
