It exists.

I've seen it.

I've held it.

I've opened it several times, several different ways.

I've peered into the handle as it locked and unlocked.

I've received a guided tour of the folder's features.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is one folder that will meet the approval of people who rely on their knives outdoors, who previously didn't trust folders.

How much beer did it take for you to get to see it? I'm at a slight disadvantage considering I can't even buy any beer to bribe Jerry with! :(

WOLF!!! WOLF!!!

Ok photoboy, show us a pic. And NOT one where it's covered up like Bravado. We WANT to believe you but have been jilted SO many times.:( :(

OK, got any details?:D :D Man! I go for this every single time. Hook, line and infi.

Guys, he didn't say which brand of folder now did he? He's not talking about the fabled Busse Folder, which now belongs in the realm of the unicorn, ufos, dwarves and swamp gas!

:D ;)

Wilco

You're right. Speaking of Swamp Gas, we are more likely to get a folder in SR101 before infi. Of course this is AFTER the new D2 line and the Battle Hatchet (Remember the megalodon?). It gets frustrating, but at the same time I know the shop is going 24/7 between Busse and Swamp Rat so I know they aren't sitting on their hands. Just flooded with work. (Good place to be in this economy)

To be clear:

I have seen and held and examined the Busse prototype folder.

You may be wondering: Is it made of INFI or some other metal? Is it tip-up carry or tip-down carry? Does it have a thumb hole or a thumb stud?

I hope Jerry wont mind if I answer all of these questions: "um...".

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If I had to describe it, I'd say: "It appears to be made out of some metal alloy".

You want more specific info? You want pictures?....

Are you kidding? Jerry weighs over 200 pounds and carries big knives! Plus, that INFI gravy train would dry up forever if I told you and showed you.

But I did really see it. I really was impressed. It had no fewer than six significant innovations, compared to all other folding knives I've seen. It really is the first folding knife that had the potential to inspire my complete trust, in terms of reliability. Jerry ran it by me and another member with a strong outdoors-oriented background, and we both agreed that we liked what we saw a lot.

Mike-
Are you talking about that broken fixed-blade that Jerry was demonstrating? I mean really- a FOLDER?

Well, I guess Jerry did repair it with amazing ease, repeatedly. And it did seem to always break in the same spot. And the blade did fit into the handle. Could it be?

YUP!

John-
Doubt if you must. I've seen and held at minimum, the prototype. From the looks of it, there is little (if any) design left to do.

Well, I choose to believe the existance of the folder even though some of you must think of me as an idiot. I'll keep my hope up !:)

A few more tidbits:

• It had a very smooth action

• The machining tolerances were extremely precise--this is relevant to two of the features I liked best

• Jerry did mention a specific intended release date, and (while it is more than two weeks) I expect that the younger among you will live to see it.

Yeah. I'm with Progunner on this one. That broken fixed blade sounds like just the trick for me.
