When reading the trapper thread, I had to laugh.. I guess I'm not the only one that forgets they own things....

It got me to thinkin, what happened to my Schrade peanut ????
So I went on a search. There it was tucked away in the safe still in the original sleeve..

I forgot how much I liked this little knife. I think the longer pull and swedge on the main blade really add somethin to it..

That is nice.I like those older Schrades. This is the closest thing I have to a peanut. Anyone know what the pattern is?Serpentine pen maybe?

Three Schrade Peanuts

Two of the 272 Open Stock Schrade Peanuts, from the plastic tube era.

This Walden Peachseed is composite and probably from the late 40's, with original box and leather purse.

Stamped on both blades and minus the U.S.A.

Great pics.. I really like the one with the leather purse.
I didn't know that they sold them with those. Those are probably hard to come by.
They really are a neat little knife.

A 219 Serpentine Junior Jack? Kind of a skinny peanut.

Here's the same knife in natural white delrin, almost translucent. One of my favorites.

Lucky find. It was a BUY IT NOW on Ebay, crappy picture, no mention of the purse and box. I suspected a steal, and I did BUY IT NOW real quick. :D

Mine says Ulster usa 81Y.Same thing for sure. For a small knife it has some weight to it.Schrade and Ulster were one at some point if I remember, right?

Yes. The Ulsters and Schrades shared quite a few patterns, even before they merged, and ultimately Schrade adopted some of the numbers.

You did good.. When I do that it usually backfires on me :D

There are some tasty peanuts in this thread! I'm liking the second from the right in Thawk's image above- the one that's been sharpened a few hundred times. Somebody loved that knife.

Yes, I don't know anything about that one, but it was sharpened with a purpose. Both the clip and pen have that same profile and they are sharp as hell. The handles are real jigged bone. Like Navihawk said about his Ulster, "It has some weight to it." It is an Ulster 183.

It looks like whoever did the blades, took the time and did a nice job on it.
It actually looks kinda cool.....

I picked up this Case Peanut sometime in the early '90s and it just went immediately into a display case. I know I have another somewhere, not stag and no bail, that needs to be shown some love. I usually carry one small knife on me but lately a Spyderco Ladybug has done the trick.

Edited to add: This is a 2 dot (1978) 5120R/SSP. Obvious to some but just in case...

Nice peanut mhawg....the stag is nice, and I really like the bail. For some reason, I like knives with the bails on them.
