Well I roughed it out and I think it may work. I'm not ready to be a professional fork maker but this one is a personal use set. I think it's a keeper. Thanks everyone!

Peter,

That looks good, I would say with that one you could have a forkin' good time. :D Keep it up.

It kinda suprised me Bruce. I just followed Bruce E's directions and it worked the first time. I took 1/4 steel rod, bumped up the last 2 inches and split it with a hack saw. I heated it again and spread the ends, tapered and pointed them and used a piece of 1/2 rod to form the U around. I have a little 1x36 inch grinder that I only use as a slack belt grinder on small things and used it to to true the thing up.

To be honest, as badly as I forge, it should be a snap for you.

Way to GO....
Glad my instructions worked out for you Peter. That Fork looks really good,People will be wanting you to make them carving sets and Bar-B-Que sets .....
Bruce:cool: :D

Nice Fork Peter! Definitely looks like you're ready for some barbecue action!:D What are you planning for the handle material?

Thanks Peter. Everything, (dirk, fork and smaller knife) get turned birdseye maple.

Peter, that's cool. I'm sure looking forward to seeing the whole set. You made that sound much easier than it really was, didn't you? :D
